Barcelona, February 28th 2020 - Foods for Tomorrow accelerates its international expansion plan and launches Heura in France with the supermarket chain Franprix. This agreement allows the Barcelona-based company to pursue its purpose: to offer plant-based alternatives to meat consumption, without sacrificing a culinary and nutritious experience, to as many people as possible in 7 markets around the world: France, Hong Kong, Singapore, Holland, Portugal, Andorra and Spain.

Bernat Añaños Foods for Tomorrow co-founder, explained that "according to studies, 79% of French citizens do not follow a specific diet but 35% of them already admit to having reduced their consumption of meat in recent years." "Heura offers a nutritious and tasty alternative for all these people who seek to reduce their meat consumption and adopt a more plant-based diet, without giving up on flavor and taste," added Añaños.

The Mediterranean culinary heritage is present in all the Heura products; with clean recipes, that have already been recognized with the “Saveur de l’année 2020” award. The first two products available in the French market are the Original and Mediterranean frozen chunks.

In Spain, the company stands for having large distribution agreements with well established companies in the market such as Carrefour and already reaches 2,500 points of sale. Besides its retail strategy for distribution in France, the Barcelona-based start-up plans to introduce its product in the food service industry there as it has already done in other countries. Heura was born to help restaurants to offer tasty and nutritious plant-based alternatives to its customers.

Foods for Tomorrow finished 2019 with a turnover of 2.5 million euros and wants to heavily bet on its internationalization to keep multiplying its figures in 2020. Añaños said that “we were born to offer 100% plant-based alternatives that do not mean a sacrifice, now the time has come to bring this culinary experience to as many people as possible and as fast as we can with a rapid international expansion”. ''We are rebels with a cause and a lot of ambition" he concluded.
