2. details and steps of water supply
first of all, there are some special water cups for offering buddha, and the living conditions are not bad now. it is best to use a special set of exquisite water cups. it is best to have a lid. some special cups also have the "great compassion mantra" printed on them, which is better. when water is offered in front of the buddha, most people offer one, three or seven cups, and even more.
before supplying water, clean the supply cup first. what water is appropriate to pour?
it is best to use pure water, mineral water, direct drinking water or boiled tap water. if the conditions are met, try not to use uncooked tap water, let alone use contaminated water.

the water poured into the water cup should not be too full, nor should it be too little, it should be seven or eight points full. after pouring it, cover the lid (it doesn’t matter if there is no lid, respect is the most important thing), place respectfully in the center of the buddha statue, and place it in sequence. a gap about a finger wide should be left between the water cup and the water cup, and arrange it in a neat row to make the buddha statue solemn.
3. how to deal with water after withdrawal
when offering water before the buddha, you can usually receive offerings in one to three days. if conditions permit, you can exchange offerings every day.
so how should we deal with the water withdrawn? there are three ways:
one is to drink it directly,but it is best to recite the "purification water mantra" several times before drinking it, because no matter how clean the water is, there are creatures that we cannot see with our naked eyes. buddhist compassion, and holding the purification water mantra can eliminate it·crime·karma,·that·untie·get rid of merit.
the second type is used to water flowers and weeds to benefit all things.
the third type can sprinkle water out and donate all living beings like monks in temples who put "mengshan to give food".
no matter which method, remember not to pour it into dirty places, such as not to pour it into a stinky ditch, as this will miss the difficult blessings you have cultivated.
water is supplied in front of the buddha, and this "water" is actually our heart, which is inherently complete. as the "platform sutra of the sixth patriarch" says: bodhi's own nature is originally pure; but with this mind, you will be able to achieve success·buddha. if our hearts can be as clean and clear as water, it means to understand the mind and see the nature, and to be great blessings and wisdom.
to offer to buddha, buddha will not use our things. all offerings are not for buddhas and bodhisattvas to see. whether offerings have merits or the size of the merits is not about the form, but about the mind.
in addition, offering is not a "bribe"·"bulle" buddhas and bodhisattvas, but our own intention. through this form, we will abandon the selfish greed in our hearts and understand how to benefit others. what is happy is our own heart.
