how to offer to achieve merit?

there are three key points when making offerings: first, the field of blessings is pure; second, the mind is pure, and third, the offerings are pure.

first, the field of blessings is pure.

buddhas and bodhisattvas have perfect wisdom and merits and belong to a pure field of blessings. especially in tantric buddhism, it is emphasized that the master is the collection of all buddhas and is the most extraordinary field of blessings.

second, the mind is pure and peaceful.

it means that the offeror must have a pure intention. whether it is to make offerings to the buddha or to the master, it cannot be used for the blessings and temporary benefits of the world such as peace and health. otherwise, it is not the purity of mind. make offerings with faith, be pure in your mind, know whether the buddha has any merits of leakage, and develop a happy heart.

do it with such a mentality and intention, instead of doing it with stinginess, nor do it with worries such as stinginess, and your heart is completely pure. only by making offerings from the heart can you achieve merit, otherwise it is better not to do it.

i often tell you that practicing depends on your intention. what is practice? what is doing good? it is to do it from the heart. if you do it reluctantly, it is not called doing good deeds, not practicing, and there is no buddhism.

why do we say that there is no buddhism? because we have no intention. therefore, you cannot force yourself to do any good deeds, especially if you make offerings, and you cannot force yourself to do it if you are unwilling to do it.

if you still feel reluctant or greedy in your heart, don’t do it for the time being. it depends on your intention. if you know the buddha's merits, the merits of offerings, and the benefits of making offerings to yourself, and then you want to do it from the heart and sincerely, you can make offerings in this situation. in short, the mind must be pure.

third, the offerings are pure.

if you are stingy and greedy, obsessive and discriminatory, you are not pure. in this way, even gold, silver and jewelry are not pure. it is best to have no discrimination and attachment, and it is also okay to have no stinginess and greed. this is the purity of offerings.

the three conditions of purity of blessings, purity of mind, and purity of offerings must be met. we must make offerings from the bottom of our hearts with respect and faith, and let go of stinginess and greed.
